Rural tourism has been noticed by planners as one of the important tools for the development of rural communities. Based on this, the identification of tourism development strategies can play an important role in the development of the country's villages. Based on this, the development of rural tourism in Kermanshah province has been the focus of planners. To help with this issue, the above research has been proposed with the aim of examining the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of rural tourism in Kermanshah province. The descriptive research method is a survey that uses a questionnaire to collect information. The statistical population consisted of 140 villagers and members of the village Islamic council and local trustees. The sample was determined using the full count and census of local administrators. The technique used was SWOT. The current research is an applied research. The software used was Excel. The findings show that overall, the rural tourism development strategy with a score of 10.905 was superior to the strategy of not developing rural tourism with an average of 9.08. Having tourism potential in the region and the existence of a diverse culture with high natural and cultural tourism capabilities are among the advantages of the province, but the lack of infrastructure and communication and welfare facilities is one of the most important obstacles to the development of the province.
