Kermanshah province in western Iran is known as one of the centers of chickpea production. Among the problems in this area is the existence of barriers to chickpea exports. The purpose of this study is to identify barriers to Kermanshah chickpea exports and then design a model to eliminate it. The present study is a qualitative research using data-based theory and based on semi-in-depth interviews, which is developmental-applied in terms of purpose and uses the coding method. The results show that the most important barriers to chickpea exports are: rising domestic chickpea prices, poor marketing, low competitiveness of Iranian chickpeas, inadequate government regulations and political, economic and currency instability. Also, the theory of removing barriers to chickpea export in Kermanshah is: removing underlying barriers and changing the traditional view of chickpea production and trade, and also by establishing optimal conditions for domestic and foreign factors, it is possible to achieve strategies and goals for developing chickpea exports and removing export barriers.
