One of the social harms that can be considered both the cause of some harms and their effect is the phenomenon of child abuse. This phenomenon, which some researchers sometimes refer to as "falling avalanche" in a creeping and mostly invisible way, can weaken social foundations and provide the basis for many damages. This research was conducted with the aim of analyzing the causes of child abuse in Kermanshah province and using a qualitative method. The statistical population of the research included all abused children and intervention experts in the phenomenon of child abuse in Kermanshah province in 2021. The sampling method was purposive with theoretical saturation criterion. In this research, a semi-structured interview was conducted with 10 abused children or their families and 16 experts active in the field of child abuse. The data were analyzed and analyzed using the qualitative content analysis method, and several categorization and coding were done. Based on the findings of the research, the most common causes of child abuse were categorized into four physical, psychological, family and social domains. The findings of the research showed that the phenomenon of child abuse is increasing in our society and there are many reasons behind child abuse. In order to reduce the phenomenon of child abuse, society needs comprehensive and coordinated planning by the government for appropriate changes in family, socio-cultural, legal and administrative structures.
