Abstract
The investigation of the physico-chemical parameters of Daryan reservoir was carried out at 5 stations from April 2022 to March 2023 to determine the feasibility of aquaculture. The results showed that the that the mean value of water temperature was 16.06 °C and the dissolved oxygen concentration was 9.42 and 5.8 mg/l for surface and deep layers respectively. It was also shown that the thermocline was not formed clearly despite a sharp decrease of temperature in some months. Mean of pH value 8.26 and secchi disc depth was medicore relatively (1.81 m). The mean value of alkalinity, BOD5, COD, TDS and electro conductivity were 136.35, 7.18, 13.19, 175.67 mg/l and 311.46 µs/cm, respectively. Also, the average concentration of nutrients such as inorganic phosphate and total phosphorus and nitrogen compounds such as ammonium, nitrite, nitrate and total nitrogen it was equal to 0.32, 0.72, 0.053, 0.079 5.04 and 7.03 mg/l respectively. In general, the results of the physico-chemical parameters and comparing with standard values showed that these factors are not limited for warm water aquaculture, but due to some water quality limitations for culture of cold water fish and other sensitive aquatic was not desirable.
